I am a photographer based in London. I took up photography a few months before the pandemic and subsequent lockdown. Following the death of my partner I had decided to try to learn how to use his camera. I attended a beginners class run by Ion Paciu at his then school in Waterloo. My intention had been to be able to use the camera on trips away, however I discovered an unexpected love of and passion for photography. I would take photos of any and every thing I found interesting. Some images worked better than others and I started to discover and develop my own style.
I particularly love taking photos of architecture, cityscapes, and creating abstract images . I enjoy using photography as an art form not simply a representation of what is in front of me. I rarely write much about the images I take as I feel the photo should stand by itself and tell it’s own story. When looking at a photo or painting I generally prefer not to be guided too much as to what I should be feeling or thinking. I hope that anyone looking at the photos on this website will interpret and understood the story of each image in their own way.
During the past few years I have been lucky enough to visit Romania three times and Montenegro twice. They were great opportunities to see, and take photos of, some amazing scenery, architecture and people. During the past few years I have had some setbacks with illness, injury and surgery but photography has continued to help me through the good and the bad times.
On this website I want to share some of my favourite images with you. I hope you enjoy them.
